Hell, 2.0GHz will be tight compared to 3GHz K8s, too, on a core for core basis. Power consumption and multithreaded performance will be quite a bit better, of course, but the low clocks make the appearance of an "enthusiast" part soon after the Sept 10 launch a remote possibility.

Better to get the chips out than to wait until it is too late.
It is kind of funny that IBM is now winning the MHz war, whereas a few years ago they were struggling to get 2.0Ghz. |
