To this date I haven't seen a definitive answer on the question of whether or not you can use these drives in single drive configuration without problems.

Everyone is like: "Well, it's probably ok, but it could be a bad idea."

So if my math is correct, 1.2 million hours between failure is the equivalent of using the drive 24 hours a day for 136.9 years

How about an update of the raptor with sata2 transfer rates and 32mb cache? Really hoping for a refresh soon.
