Krogoth: They have call MS for a mail order. It will probably be quicker too than trying to download a 1GB via 56K analog modem. ;)

Fifty-eight hours at 5K/s, which wasn't too unreasonable a speed years ago when I still used a modem. A download manager like GetRight would be a requirement to manage disconnects and GetRight would also help get the steady 5K/s using two connections.

Not sure the DVD from Microsoft would make it to you that quickly.

That 1GB is for the stand alone deploy version. Modem user probably better off choosing the smaller Express option.

I just want them to take their time and get a good stable service pack out there. I've been running Vista Ult. 64 since day one with no problems so no hurries here. Man, now people are complaining the size of the service pack. Just no satisfying people these days no matter what you do.

Good lord 1gb? What happened to the days of a patcher package which edits the contents of files, instead of directly replacing them.

That's what the 50MB Express option is for.

The 1GB stand alone option contains all the language versions and is meant for deployment in a multiple PC environment.

What!? The hell.

Whats exFat in the first place? Is that the metadata file system Vista was supposed to have, WinFS or something?

General Manager of Microsoft's Windows Unit, as saying that Vista SP1 "is not a delivery vehicle for lots of features."

"not a delivery vehicle for lots of features" -- that's fine, I think we'll all settle for them fixing the ones that are there now.

Of course, the real question for a lot of people here is when are the video drivers going to get done?
