It's rather interesting to see AMD being able to use 55nm process for their ATI-branded GPUs but not for their AMD-branded CPUs. I'm sure the process rules difference is because the 55nm process is from a third-party foundry, but I wonder if AMD can use it for their CPUs as a stop-gap measure for their low-power segment?

If only ATI focused on releasing decent 8800 competitors instead of rehashing their low end trash. After all, nvidia's corresponding are equally useless. It's the other segment of the market where ATI is severely lacking.

Why not raise the rop and tmu by 4 and turn the clock speed down some? It would be a decent performer if they did.
