These fixes are perplexing at best. Who in the world would waste their money running two 2400 XTs ? Those are low-power budget cards, good only for their HDCP decoding abilities.

I think the are still Betas. I installed them on Windows XP Media Center and they totally hosed the system.

Pretty sad to not release these drivers on the regular site just to drum up visitors to their 'games' site, I'd say that was a clear indication that site sucks ass in major corporate ways.

Oh and when I click to get them I get a page with:
Sorry, you have insufficient access.

403 Access Denied.

Plus akamai gives me a 'certificate error'

Great how they set that up.
Well bye bye ATI/AMD, I tried and the experience was enough to turn me back to awful nvidia.

I knew waiting until September 2007 was a good thing to do before trying these 2-3+ year old games out on ati hardware!

Shame they haven't fixed the X1950Pro AGP issues, though at least they mention it in the release notes:

"Caution: Installing the Catalyst software suite 7.8 or 7.9 on a system containing the ATI Radeon™ X1950 AGP series of product may result in either the desktop failing to be drawn properly or the operating system failing to boot. It is recommended to continue using Catalyst 7.7 for this product at this time."

Before anyone else says it, I suppose it serves me right for clinging on to AGP. :-(

Double digit performance improvements sure ain't bad. Unfortunately it's all in older titles that probably already run just fine (at least on the HD26 and the HD29). Would be nice if some DX10 titles got the same treatment.

I sure am glad gaming is mostly behind me.

What's with this tread of citing improvements in games, why can't they just tell me what the hell they fixed?

I see some updates pertaining to Vista and HD-DVD playback using Cyberlink software - I'll try to give this a shot later on my HTPC rig.

I wonder what they've broken in this release - probably something minor like removing the ground from Battlefield 2 (again) :-(
