I like to see a real product, tested, not promises.
Then talk about mass production.

Another one of those promising technologies "3-5 years" away.

I'd put the odds that this tech will end up in a real commercial product at less than 50%. But stories like this are still more interesting than most of the stuff that passes for news at other sites. I enjoy reading about interesting tech, even if its commercial potential may be questionable. Keep 'em coming!

Why do so many people here complain about these stories on new tech that's still in the development or pre-production phase? The new technology that you lust after doesn't pop out of thin air all by itself, with no development leadtime.

Are you saying that this site should not report on interesting tech that's in the development phase? That's up to you of course, but it seems strange that people who would have enough technical interest to come to this site would be disinterested enough in new tech to actually complain about these stories.

IBM just never gives up on magnetic storage. There was bubble memory in the 80s, and before that...

Well, for those that missed it, this is just a redux of core memory... just at a far tinier scale.

"3-5 years" is the tech equivalent of "two weeks" in The Money Pit.

This looks to be non-volatile too? If that's the case then it can be really good.
