GT? I thought only Nvidia used GT.... what does GT stand for anyhow?

Or do they just like adding random letters and numbers?

2900pro is very interesting. it's basically a 2900xt downclocked, everything else the same incl the PCB. As long as it's priced right, I will be all over that. I THINK the performace will be about 5-10% slower than the 8800gts 320mb on average. But since i don't use AA, it'll be about the same.

Can we find a new "in" verb other than "cooks up"? I've been seeing that one a lot around here lately.

I'd guess $299 for the Pro and $225 for the GT.

The GT might be a decent card for $199.

So now that they're offering 2900 cards for mere mortals, how will they explain the absence of the full implementation of UVD? Other than that this is nice to see AMD filling the gigantic sprawling gaps in their product line up.

I might upgrade to the 2900 Pro...but I'm not sure if the performance would be the same as my 7950 GT OC.

If you drill into the site you will see that they are offfering an AGP version of the 2600 and 2400 series as well. Would Vista be supported on an old socket 754 system by anyone?
