Why is it that nVidia insists on these confusing naming schemes? Which is better, the GT, GS, GTS, GTX? It's just not a consumer friendly system.

I think 8900 series will come with DX 10.1 support
I wonder when the 8950GT will come :( I have a 7950GT now, and still not decided, go to DX10.1 or wait for DX11 ? BTW, when DX11 will come any way ? if it's too far ( 2009 ) I'll go for DX 10.1 |

RV670 looks more powerful. ATI might win the midrange fight.
G92 appears to have 64 stream processors (Half 8800 GTX). RV670 appears to have a full 320 stream processors (same as 2900 XT). It really looks like ATI's new midrange will be the faster and NV will be the lower priced this time. Either way it is good that we are going to finally get the 256 bit midrange cards under $300. November is shaping up to be interesting with Barcelona/Penryn on the desktop and RV670/G92 aslo hitting the shelves. |

about time there was a decent middle ground performance and price-wise from the (real) 8800s and 8600s. now if they only had a naming scheme that better reflected that...
