Still waiting for the iTunes Australia to adjust prices. Our $1.69AUD (started 1AUD=0.65USD) is more like $1.38USD (take of GST and 1.00AUD=0.90USD) ie. 40% more than USA. I think UK are also over paying.

What do people think of the record labels getting their variable pricing ?
Would that be 50% more for new, 50% less for old, the rest at ??c in the middle (eg. $1.50, $0.50, $0.99).

So who else thinks that back-up software and hardware are going to have a surge in popularity over the course of the next couple years? I mean, you can't re-download the music so you are SOL and have to re-purchase it if you do not back it up.

BTW - I think after the iPhone fiasco - Apple needs to straighten their image or face turning into a Sony...

So basically they might as well stop selling the DRM one's since they have no benefit.

I've actually been buying MP3s from Amazon. It works OK now, but they have a limited selection. I'm only buying one-hit-wonders. If I want more than a couple of songs from one CD, it makes more sense to go to half.com for the CD.

Also, their search engine and layout need some tweaking. You should be able to search for an artist and not get a bunch of karaoke and remakes.

I'd enjoy seeing some DRM free competition that DOESN'T require proprietary software. With Amazon, I don't need to install anything (iTunes, etc) to get single songs. The best part so far.
