Crysis runs alot better in XP than in vista, the game is horrible under vista, I ran the game on high settings with a GTS 320, it strugles a little but its good. I want to SLI when the game comes out. It's a good game, I gave it bad review under vista- because beleive me--it's bad! The game overall looks fantastic and the gameplay it's actually very good.

Far Cry 2 is in production with Ubisoft, at the moment. Setting is in Africa, with no mutants, just bad guys and a slight RPG element to it.

Ran the Crysis demo last night for just a bit; it's autodetection set my system for Medium...which was disappointing considering I'm running an Opteron 185@3GHz, 2GB RAM, BFG 8800GTXOC at 1920x1200.

What exactly do you need to make this game crank?

X850XT, P4E 2.8@3.2Ghz, 2GB DDR

Resolution 800x600. All settings medium, except for physics and shadows, which are set to low. Water set to high. Framerate is drops to about ~20-25 fps when in a vehicle running people over... and is a perfectly playable 40fps at practically all other times. All you people with 7900 or x1950 series or above should have no problems playing this provided you're willing to turn off AA.

Had a good experience with it last night running 1920x1200 with all settings at High and dropping AA down to 2x. No hiccups or slowdowns.

As for Crysis being like FarCry, I don't see how that's a bad thing, considering how great FarCry was. If something has a good formula, why is it bad is they continue in the same vein? Originality only carries you so far if the execution sucks.

College connections are the best. Steady 1.1mbps download rate. Now the only bad part is this crappy laptop couldn't even handle the game. I have to wait till Thanksgiving break to give this demo a test run :(

I just gave Sandbox a shot. It's awesome. You can add anything to the island. Everything from buildings to vehicles. Tanks, helo's, etc. It's a lot of fun. The FPS in sandbox is even lower than in the normal game, that sucked. And the helo's are almost impossible to fly :S
You can change the time of day, lightning and the duration of dusk and dawn etc.

If you're gonna give it a try, when you're finished with your mod/build, go to "game" in the toolbar and click on "switch to game" or use ctrl + G. That's how you'll be able to play your mod. You'll be playing it in Sandbox.

From what I hear about the performance on 8800 cards, I don't know whether it will be worth my time to download this. Does my 7900GT and X2 3800+ have a chance?

It runs like crap. A 7800GT xXx can't even get a decent FPS with almost everything on low. And dx10 is impossible with one 8800GTX and everything on high. A Q6600 however does just fine. After I installed a Vista hotfix the memory usage was down to 60% of 4GB. It used to be 75% :S

Crysis is what I feared. It is Far Cry 2.0. The demo's intro and countless company demos were very annoying.

Crytek just recycled a lot of the content in Far Cry and had increase the foliage, shaders and texture quality. IMO, the textures and effects aren't that much better than Unreal 3 Engine. The only feature that somewhat impress me is the "Day/Night cycle".

The AI is virtually the same expect they are North Korean soldiers instead of hill-bill mercs. There are killer mutants again.

Crysis will be a great tech demo, but not worth $49 or $59 at launch. I will wait for to be in the bargain bin.

Want to get that drydocked pleasure boat off the lifts so u can take it for a spin? Set your suit on strength and punch the hull from underneath and watch it fly.

Also fun to punch down the little houses/huts.

gah its the 1337zorz but i need better graphics...can play it on high but it really lags where there's wide open spaces...8600GT is doing its job well trying to keep up with the demands...need the 9's or at least the 8800GT (hoping for christmas deals)

Ouch!! Auto detecting my graphics resulted in "low" with a Pentium D 2.8 GHz, 4 GB RAM and an 8800GTS 320 on a 680i board. And they're not kidding. Trying to run it on even medium is laggy. That was trying to run it on Vista 64-bit. I'll have to see if it's any better on XP 32-bit.
