I too do not see why this is a "fantastic deal". Fry's is now selling an Intel 945GC motherboard with a Celeron process for $59 also. The gOS CD which Everex includes with their product can be downloaded for free, so essentially it doesn't have any monetary value.
I'll pass on this one. If they bundle 512MB DDR2 for the same price, then I'll buy it ;-) ;-) |

I wonder about VIA Unichrome's linux drivers. So far nVidia is pretty much the only game in town, then Intel.

Hot DAWG, ClubIT.com takes confirmed PayPal, and as noted, the basic shipping option was free. Be interesting to see what I can turn this thing into.

This could make a great Windows Home Server board, or possibly an HTPC setup, though I'd love to see one with 4 SATA ports.
It'd also make a good project board for SmoothWall or MonoWall, or for a relative that just has basic needs. I can see plenty of purposes for this, and it's a tempting price. |

I could see using one as a very low power security system. A few cameras that direct images to this (maybe with a USB flash drive as the storage, and a compactflash drive as the boot volume) and we can probably keep this running for hours on a UPS if the power goes out (and the looting commences). Or maybe to drive a car PC terminal- low power means low heat- won't take much to cool it.

I rather buy a cheap AM2 Matx board and my choice of chip.
Newegg has a $65 AM2 690G board with HDMI.
Along with a cheap sempron, it will cost a bit more then gPC combo, but offer better performance and have a better upgrade path.
