The Mini P180 looked awesome...up until I read that it only supports up to microATX. I'd love to see more enclosures like the Lian-Li PC-A05, a low profile enclosure that supports full ATX yet still has decent cooling options (2 x 120mm fans on the front and back are really all you need for most setups, with a mount for an optional third fan at the top or on the side to round it out).

There are just too many things wrong with the miniP180.
1. It's too big for a mATX case. 2. At $159, it's also too damn expensive. 3. You can't install the front 120mm fans unless you remove the drive cages. 4. Swing door is not a good idea on a mATX/SFF - these things are small because they are placed in cramped quarters. I'll have to admit I was excited when I first heard about them. But the (p)review at Anand quashed the enthusiasm. The miniP180 is 3cm too tall to fit under the shelves above my dorm desk. The Silverstone TJ08 will fit, and also accomodates 120mm fans and supercoolers. It's not as silent, but if the shoe doesn't fit... |
