Beaurocrats are idiots. Nothing they have done to date has had any real effect on piracy. One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results. I would argue from a scientific standpoint, that the only way to protect information from unwanted use is by destroying it.

All they will achieve is making encryption more popular, and raring files, then all their 'anti-piract' efforts will be reduced to spying on people under the guise of 'anti-piracy', but that's all their NSA buddies want filtering for I guess..
Oh and it will make it possible to prevent sites from disseminating unwanted material, like for instance a video that's exposing government or big company wrongdoings.. Why don't these people in washington and at companies like AT&T just move to china if they want to live in such a state? |

I'd be glad to sit on an ISP that monitored my connections and didn't allow pirate p2p's. Especially if that would trickle down to lower cost. I have nothing to hide.
