The real question is do the 780G AMD motherboards support dual monitors. If so with the dedicated RAM for the IGP I see no reason to purchase a graphics card on an AMD system.

Yes yes this is all fascinating. But the real question is how well do these overclock? I'm hoping an unlocked 3450 can get at least to 750 MHz. With my Zalman VF900, maybe it will even hit 850! Keeping my fingers crossed for 2200 3DMarks!
Also, can you imagine the 3D pixel pushing power of a Beowulf cluster of 3450's? All I need is 18 more mobos... never mind |

Yes yes all this is fascinating stuff. But the real question is how will it run Crysis? Or better yet, substitute Crysis with Assassin's Creed now that those specs are out and even more ridiculous.
On a more serious note, I only wish these cards were released a few months ago. I would have easily purchased one of these babies instead of a 7600GT. |

Are these able to beat the GF-8xxx compeditors? I'm not seeing the kind of improvement that the R-38xx showed. But still, I suppose they'll sell fine to OEMs. Maybe if Gigabyte does an awesome passive cooled version (as they have done for GF-8600) I'll get one for the shuttle.

After reading this, I wonder, at what point will cards with these features get exclusively integrated into chipsets, and that video cards per se eventually will be higher-end only.
In the meantime, it will be nice to have some performance specs on these cards, especially their video playback capabilities. |
