AMD is on track to get back on track. Good to hear. I can't wait for the new F@H client at the end of March and the new R7XX based GPUs to come later.

A fancy diffraction grating does not make a processor.
Seems a little odd that we have not heard a squeak about the process technology used in the AMD 45nm, especially with regard to combating leakage current. Also even odder that AMD have not publicly demonstrated any working samples of their 45nm CPUs. Remember that Intel publicly demonstrated fully working samples of Penryn on January 27, 2007 with shipment of the first desktop production Penryn (QX9650) at the end of October 2007. Considering that Intel is THE production power-house for high-volume CPU-type silicon and AMD currently has shown no working 45nm silicon, I doubt if any AMD 45nm processors will be shipped in high volume before the end of 2008. A few 45nm Opterons to workstation vendors maybe, but that is all........ |

#10 AMD demonstrated both systems and wafers. They had Denebs working at the booth, and a lot of product information.

Gotta love features so small, you can use the chip die as a diffraction grating, beautiful!

There are 4300 x 3000 pixel versions at http://www.amd.com/us-en/0,,3715_15503,00.html?redir=45nm01
