Looks like it will happen after all. I don't see why not though. More profit, is more profit. I just hope it is priced reasonable and has the same PC USB connectivity as the HD-DVD for XBOX did.

There's an ad TR has been showing with a Pioneer drive for only $149. Progress is good.

When the time comes to re-evaluate the 360 as a gaming device, it still fall short with the lack of wifi and a hard drive with every version. MS should add these two items and the difference between the two systems would MOSTLY boil down to the games and their network connectivity.

If MS would just get off their lazy butts and add HD support to Media Center, I wouldn't need to get HD drives for my xbox. However...

since the drive can obviously read DVD's as well, what's everybody's opinion about the likelihood they'll release a new system SKU with a built-in blu-ray drive?
