I just discovered all the music I downloaded from iTunes has the crap 128kb/s quality. Never again.

I only buy if it's iTunes Plus. I can't stand DRM.

I am amazed that people keep buying at iTunes, when Amazon has a large selection of DRM-free MP3 files (at 256kb/s, so better quality than standard iTunes files) for the same price. I guess they are iDiots.

does this say more about Itune's growth or the decline of physical sales?

Used Itunes for a while and still have it on my computer. (sadly) However I've been using Amazon when possible lately. No time consuming CD burning a ripping to remove the DRM!

I hate iTunes. AAC format is nice and the quality is good but so much DRM overheard. MP3's are supported on pretty much any device... and any MP3 player... hence the name "MP3 player". I want my music 100% DRM free.
