I'm concerned though, won't continuing down the path of 'platformization' lead to alot of proprietary stuff? Like, the hardware from each platform/brand can only work with each other, and not with hardware from other brands. Won't that really diminish the flexibility that PCs have always enjoyed?

once again duh, they just bought ATI why would they say anything different.

I'm sure Intel disagrees, but that is because they want to push something else...
