I think Huang would be better off going back to playing table tennis rather than bothering with the acquisition of VIA. The last time I bought a motherboard with a VIA chipset was 2001, and while it was good at the time, bigger competitors have since had more compelling options.

I'm actually surprised to read this piece of news. I always thought that in the upcoming months, we would hear about NVIDIA buying VIA. I guess NVIDIA has something else up its sleeve...

Our shtick is that we just focus on one thing. We said we're a visual computing technology company and we're completely focused on this.

funny how he says that
when they also focus on chipsets
and are moving onto mobile devices

expect a buyout
if nvidia want the gpu to reign supreme they're still gonna need a cpu
ever tried running an 8800 with no cpu?... games don't work too well...
