To restate Usacomp's, good, IMO, question:

What does GDDR5 have to do with whether or not a GPU is a monolithic core or not?

Smaller because it's simpler to code for a 128-bit bit path versus a 384-bit, if the former can achieve the same bandwidth as the latter due to much higher clock speeds?

Is it just me that wants to see the higher clock speeds of GDDR5 AND the 384bit memory patch of the G80?

Two poverty spec cards joined together is not a high end product I am interested in - bring back big balls pushing the limits technology!

Is there a point to this? I wonder if R700 will be powerful enough to use all that bandwidth.
