Just out of curiosity, where does this story fit under TR's mantra of "The Tech Report, PC hardware explored"...? Not picking on TR, but this cell phone called the iPhone (notice it isn't even called "a computer" by its manufacturer) seems to me to get entirely too much publicity inside of computing web sites. It's always puzzled me. I mean, if Apple starts making refrigerators, will you be covering them, too?...;)

From that thread:
- Internet access speed seems good. - Apple AppStore isn't working yet. - The guy can't do much with the phone because in order to connect it to his PC he needs iTunes 7.7, which isn't out yet. - Can't use his own SIM card either. Rumours from that thread, regarding the carrier, mostly (Vodafone): - It won't have MMS support and a few bare programs, almost everything will be paid for [yay, nickel & dime!] - No video-calls. |
