Look at the known driver issues for Vista vs Windows XP vs Windows XP 64-bit and tell me again that XP-64 has compatibility issues.

Has anyone installed these drivers and learned about whether they've fixed the fan speed/ GPU temp situation fixed on the 4850. Mine has been VERY stable but runs at ~80deg under load.

Wow, optimizations specific to the map? They're already scraping the bottom of the renderpath-efficient barrel... that was fast.

I really like being able to upgrade drivers without having to restart the computer. I hope this becomes more normal from other companies as well.

Any word on if they effect idle power consumption of 4850's?

I'm really glad to see AMD chugging along. I'd love to see the 4800 series benchmarked using these newer and more optimized drivers. I really wonder how much performance gains (if any) do newer drives offer. Perhaps when the X2 card comes out.

I think you forgot the most important part. They now support the 4800 series so you no longer have to use the drivers on the CD that came with the card or the hotfix drivers.
