Can someone refresh my memory and say where and why it is that SSDs fall down in performance? (Forgetting about the $/GB factor)

Any word on TR re-running the benchmarks on an updated version of this drive? Considering that it's half the cost of the OCZ or Samsung drives it would be very interesting to see if this update let's it catch up to those two performance wise.
