So, how does this compare to a 790G motherboard, as far as Bluray decode and in a HTPC situation?
The 4x PCIE is not a big deal, as a 1x capture card is all I'd put in it anyway. The 790G boards match everything, and their video quality for a HTPC is top notch. |

This looks like more of a HTPC mobo to me than anything, so the x4 bandwidth on the x16 slot shouldn't be a big deal. Too bad they didn't just leave it out and really target the HTPC market, but oh well.

#9, You sure? I've heard reports of people with other mobos with ALC 889a chipsets not having DTS Connect/DDLive. It seems the chips have been "defeatured" somehow.

Hmm, guess I don't keep up enough on the enthusiast motherboards. Exactly what does one do with "dual BIOSes" anyway?

I wish AMD got a license to make Intel ATI chipsets for LGA775 and Nehalem. AMD's IGPs put the hurt on everything else.

No DTS Connect or Dolby Digital Live?
How come neither Asus nor Gigabyte's newest boards feature DTS Connect/DDLive lately? It's really annoying, as we know the audio chipsets used should support them. :( |

Talk about a tiny tap on a huge reservoir. |
