Wow! In the future, half of all farmers will be young women! Maybe farther in the future 75% of all farmers will be handicapped, black, female, Muslim, lesbian transsexuals on welfare (but hard-working).

Its a browser concept. It does NOT mean that it will be implemented as shown. They just exploring ideas. (Nothing wrong with that, is there?)
I like the "radial menu" idea though...Maybe Firefox 4? :-) The "Frame" interface is a little odd. (Instead of having all 4 sides in one colour, maybe have them in different colours? Opposite pairs in the same colour?) Top = "The Shelf" = Frequently used objects Left = "History Stack" = Recently used objects. The latest to the oldest. Right = "User Stack" = Temp storage area for objects. This is where you put your docs, etc that you need right now. Bottom = "The Wheel" = Currently used objects. (A guess its their version of the taskbar). I'll be honest, I'll never use the "History Stack" or "The Shelf". The "Spacial View" looks like a mess at first, until you hear their explanation. Its mainly about grouping relevant objects. The less used ones are automatically shifted away from you as time goes by. (Z-axis direction) This feels like a bit to grasp for the typical mainstream user. Still I like the idea of getting rid of traditional menus in applications and just have the radial one. I wonder how that would do in a word processor? |

And so we gravitate towards a vision of the future that formerly got Microsoft caned on the wrist: The browser IS the operating system environment.

I had the same impression as others, what a mess. It looks totally confusing, complicated, something you might see on CSI or some MS promo video that only the programmers can understand because they work on it full-time. That said, the concept is good in that it would be nice to voice communicate easily over the internet and share the same screen. It being just a promo notwithstanding, Mozilla should stay true to their roots and keep it elegant.

What a mess. Who thought this would impress people? I guess it could make sense if I was familiar with the "OS," but that just looks bad.

"It's gotta be here somewhere"
Yesh. That is exactly what I was thinking when I saw that mash of a desktop. I'm really hoping the future is not like this. |

Er, why is the framerate so bad? It's distractingly hilarious.

That looks rubbish.
"Cluttered, over-animated, cumbersome mess" is a phrase that springs to mind. Tabbed browsing was a major improvement. "Tab trees" would be the next logical step. Anything else is just unwanted bloat when you consider that the best browser is the invisible browser. |

Well for one thing, I don't want my web browser taking up the whole screen, plus it all looks so cluttered!

Who really needs to see all their tabs, location bar, etc all the time? most of the time is spent reading the content like a piece of paper, and that should be the focus.
Just make it like the full screen mode currently, except it can operate the same if the browser isn't in "fullscreen" mode. Heck, that probably could be done in 3.1 with some minor rewrites, not some far future concept.
