I'd love to see Samsung package 4 of these 32gb drives in a 3.5 inch tray with 4 sata connectors. That would make a great little Raid 5 or Raid 0 + 1 array that only takes up a single drive bay.

Well...
Two of those 32GB ones is RAID O should provide excellent performance at good value. |

Um, if that's the hardware pictured, where's the chip-logic that does the wear-levelling algorythms and such?

You can do what you want using the parts available to you. But Samsung would be stupid to combine two of these into a RAID array; they would get much better performance (and reliability) by simply combining all the Flash memory behind a single flash controller to create a single drive with twice the capacity. In fact this is how performance in SSDs has been steadily ramping up in step with the growth in capacity.

But no pricing revealed yet, not even ballpark estimates. Hafta wait for that before uncorking the champagne.

I'd like an IDE version of this for my older laptop, which could really use the performance boost.

Neat device. About the size of a 1.8" SSD but with the SATA ports on the side I guess. Shows the market is starting to mature with decent speeds and standard form factors.
