I can't wait for the day when Valve decides to shut down the Steam servers and all the idiot fanboys are left holding a bunch of worthless 1's & 0's.

Well, I broke out my old copy of fallout 2 to play a few days ago. Just think if it needed to check back home to be able to play...I would be the proud owner of a coaster. Thats why I am against all this new DRM and no phsical media trends. WHat happens if I have a DDL of a game and the company goes out of business and then my hard drive dies...I have nothing I can do. With all the old games I have, I can install and play them any time I want without any hassles. With games now, legitimate owners get all the hassle and only the pirates have no problems. This is why the computer gaming market has fallen off a cliff. At least good old games has the right idea, hope the rest of the industry wakes up and smells the cofee. Or else it is just going to be wow and a few 1st person shooters on the computer....oh wait.

Serves people right for buying something to which someone else holds the keys.

Make the assumption that DRM is a dead end, and you'll never have issues.

And it could be that there's not a large overlap, i.e. the songs offered in the DRM'ed WMAs aren't necessarily also available as MP3s due to one reason or another like licensing or the artist throwing a fit or something. So rather than deal on a case-by-case basis it's less hassle to just have one all-encompassing policy rather than tell a customer that they can get MP3s for this and this and this song, but not for that and that song.

If you're buying music from Wal-"We reserve the right to edit the hell out of lyrics without telling you!"-Mart, you're just asking for it.

I've been buying DRM free music from Walmart for a while now. I havn't bought a CD in a long time. My only beef is that when you buy a full album, the albumart is not included as part of the download, which would be nice.

why don't they just let you download the MP3 version of songs you purchased? It's not like they don't have records...
