I DL the .24 drivers and OMG nothing but BSOD's from these things. I run 2 88GT's and had to backtrack to the .13 drivers for stability. Good grief, before going back, I went to the 180 Beta and saw at least a 50% drop in FPS in Crysis before it wouldn't even load my desktop anymore. Garbage, WTF is wrong with NVIDIA.....

i just got this driver from 178.14. .14 was a terrible driver. on the 8800GTX, Vista 32-bit, and a 680i chipset. the driver was awful. i noticed slowdown in everything i did, and in games it just didnt draw too well.

upgrading to the 178.24 performance is back where it should've been. and my games look fine. i noticed a large problem with all the games fromt he older driver (178.14), Crysis, Mass Effect etc. much better. finally a driver that works. i wish they would test the drivers before releasing them. even if (178.14) was a beta. it was awful.

Does anyone know whether newer drivers give any benefit to owners of pre-8xxx cards? I've stuck with 93-series drivers for my 7600 because a) it ain't broke b) I've heard that newer drivers are often not as well optimized for older series of cards and c) I don't game enough to bother doing scores of benchmarks to find out.

FYI -- XP does not seem to be available as of 1:22 p.m. EST 10-15-08 -- maybe it's just me, but I can't get it to download.

Still getting the protected video error with these drivers on Vista 32bit. Sent an error report to nvidia.

Edit: Finally tried the newish windows update one which turns out to be 178.13 and it does not have the problem as had with the nvidia supplied ones. Nice.

Cyril, GeForce 178.15 was an unofficial beta. Time to bring the headline in sync with the story. ;)
