So, does Silverlight replace Flash? Because I'd love to get adobe's crapware off my computer forever.

Youtube videos don't necessarily increase in performance because it's just video decoding not Flash proper. To test this properly you'll need to find some vectoring or 3D flash works.
With that said, I just installed and tried something with lots of vectoring and it doesn't seem to do anything. |

"maximizing YouTube videos did feel noticeably snappier."
Should've been snappy in the first place. I've got a few Athlon XPs and even a fast P3 rig that can maximize youtube without dropping frames. |

Flash 10 doesn't work with Photobucket yet, So If one has an account there(The Flash 9 stand alone installer is 1.42MB in size), Keep Your full Flash 9.0 self installer around as It can't be found, I tried several places and found they just download Flash 10 now, Not Flash 9.

Huh? You say that maximizing YouTube videos felt noticeably snappier, even though there was no optimisation or GPU use?

hmm, now not only can Flash hog your CPU cycles, it it can more efficiently waste computing resources and increase power consumption by working the GPU hard as well. Turn up those speakers, folks, because the graphics card cooler is going to be ramping up to give you the same YouTube experience. Boy, how did we ever manage to waste time at work without GPU-accelerated browser plugins? Is my YouTube productivity going to suffer because of the Intel IGP in my work PC? Gee, I hope I don't lose any (more) sleep over this.
