Whoa!
It's been an hour since this has been posted and nobody mentioned anything about how their childhood was ruined by S3 drivers ?! Adi |

Wow, this company still exists? I do still have memories of my first-ever 3d-"decelerator." Ugh, a 3D video card that couldn't do 3D. Had a nice game bundle, though. Ironically, it couldn't run the included games in hardware 3D. Sad.

Pretty soon, VIA will have a comprehensive portfolio of exciting technologies that nobody outside of SE Asia and China can find on the store shelves.

Surely this is just a "we can do this too, here's an example" thing?
If they have any sense they'll be working on OpenCL drivers. |

Wow! S3 wrote hardware-level filters!
Even if you do it 100 times faster, S3, less than a second still feels like less than a second. |

since the s3 virge in the pentium1 days, i've always supported the underdog product if it would give a market advantage and/or offered some unique features, better performance etc.
but really now, s3 have consistently made poopy cards (who buys these things?) with gaudy advertising, for about 3/4/5/? consistent graphics accelerator generations :|
