The one thing I'm hoping for with Windows 7 is that they bring back NTbackup. I loved that utility. It was simple, conveinient, and it had all the options I could ever want.

Vista Backup is hot garbage by comparison. (I can't choose what folders/files to save? I can only backup entire drives? I can only save certain types of files? Theres no way to verify that the files I want backed up weren't skipped?)

...is Micorsoft working on Vista SP2?

Or is Vista the new ME?

Windows 7 will be a lot like Vista.
They should have called it Mojave because it will generate the same response.
Take away the FUD and most will think the "new" OS is killer.
Meanwhile those of us with Vista x64 will continue to enjoy the best OS Microsoft has ever made.

Assuming that the rumored release date comes anywhere true. It is just another parallel that enforces this.

Vista => Windows 95 2.0

Vista SP1 => Windows 95 2.0 OSR1

Vista SP2 => Windows 95 2.0 OSR2

Windows 7 => Windows 98 2.0

Windows 7 SP1 => Windows 98 SE 2.0

I hope Windows "7" is 64bit only, no 32bit version.

This is so shaping up to be Vista 2.0.

They just need to rename Vista to ME and move on. I'm glad 7 is coming, I don't think Vista is as bad of an OS as it started out, but it certainly has a lot of negative mojo for MS and they need to get past that asap before it continues to be a source or eroded market.
