Maybe it's me but cloud computing makes no sense for the average user. Hell, it doesn't make much sense for businesses neither. It seems that, like other industries, the tech sector is driven as much by hype as anything else.

Sharepoint and Dynamic CRM. Those two pieces alone make me want to check this out. Powerful combination.

So its just web services plus hosting @ Microsoft? I guess adding pictures of clouds to any diagram makes it better.

What does cloud computing have to do with a bluish-purple color (azure)?

haha: Today, Microsoft has offficially unveiled the software
not that big of a deal, really, but it just gave the article an unintentional sensationalist "flare" if you will. |

Why must MS dress everything up so much? It is a trend that started in earnest just before they announced Windows Vista, and it makes me distrust everything they say.
"It is a cloud computing framework and storage system. You can build database applications in the cloud, use .Net applications to access it all, and version control stuff with Dynamics / Sharepoint." If they had said that, my engineering brain would be very excited right now. Instead they have hyped it to the Nth degree and then dressed it all up with silly fancy words. |

No pricing yet: "Subject to certain limits, Azure Services will be available without charge during our Community Technology Preview (CTP)."

I'm tired of bailing these value-less companies out. MS had better come correct.
