I don't know about seagate drives, i think they bought maxtor, and they are both not the most reliable devices I've owned, had a couple crap out on me this year. But the concept of drive encryption on the drive sounds like a great idea.

And when the drive locks up, the data is so secure even you can't extract it. ;)
