"by often over 7 degrees Celsius," Say what? You could get that easily by using a really good quality tower heatsink and some good quality thermal paste. And you wouldn't have to worry about leaks. And the fan would be quiter.

Bummer they strapped it on the Intel board, prolly the worst choice for overclocking.

So judging form the pictures, can you choose between the "backplate and screws" and the "pushpins" retention mechanisms?

Is this not C2D compat?

How much does she cost?

This looks pretty cool unless the cost is prohibitive as "Blowing your savings on a top-of-the-line PC that has fancy liquid cooling, of course." suggests.

You know... after hearing Scott talk about the i7's "turbo-sauce" on the Podcast it sounds like the best way to get more performance out of your i7 is by improving the cooling setup and leaving the OC-settings alone.

In other words; excessive? Sure. Appropriate for optimizing performance over tweaking the values? You bet.
