So, the GTX 260 outperforms the 4870...the price gap also appears to be closing. Which runs cooler? I think I remember the 4870's being infamous for running on the hot side.

Well, the GTX was also slightly overclocked over the reference design. At stock, the scores would be a lot closer. AMD could certainly do better with drivers. In most slightly order games, AMD seems to win, or at least they used to (not sure how much difference those latest drivers from NVIDIA made)

nvidia's naming still throws me off. A GTX260....how many "streams" does it have?
