Shocking discovery:

Facebook, Hotmail, iTunes, Google, Youtube, Microsoft Office and Photoshop still run fine on a 1GHz Athlon with Windows XP. OK, a GB of RAM is almost a requirement these days but that's only because of the bloat associated with the average user's 3-year-old windows installation.

The success of the eee and the Atom are two good arguments for why most people don't need that much power.

I'm sure that the fact that game making companies "love us from behind" and releases games on pc AFTER they fill the console market with them doesn't have anything to do with slower hardware market growth.... yeah right ;)

Its not just the financial crisis thats doing it. The fact is now even most budget computers are more than capable of doing what the vast majority need. Apart from maybe a harddrive upgrade most people aer going to be happy using there system right up until it breaks down.

PC Gaming market larger than predicted.

PC growth slower than predicted.
