Obligatory whining about Newegg advertisements in the news section and other alleged inadequacies of a resource I get for free.

I wish I could justify that 4870 purchase. $210 after MIR is just about there if I didn't have an active case of New Monitor Lust going.

Everyone should have Half-Life by now. I'd have a ton of extra copies to gift if Valve hadn't only recently started keeping track of extra licenses. Over the years I've added my original HL key, a Silver ATI voucher, Gold Steam version of HL2, and the Collector's Edition of HL2. I suppose all of my friends have HL already anyway, so finding people to gift those 3 copies to would be a little tough anyway.

In unrelated HL news, Black Mesa Source released new images the other day and it still looks amazing:

That's a great price on the GTX260 and it comes with Farcry2 atm, if it wasn't 10.5" long I'd have gotten one. Good deal on the 4870 as well of course.

I know retesting is a pain but when there's a major release of drivers from NV, which doesn't happen frequently, that increase performance pretty nicely it is probably justified. Any plans of using the 180.xx drivers for the next video card review? I just think that's important to get a fair and current comparison and it might balance things out mroe vs the 512MB 4870, which of course has seen small consistent iperformance increases as well.

It's a pity they aren't offering the Source version of Half Life for that price.

Still don't get it... Why do i have to download a 3rd party software, Steam (read another bloat for me), to get a game delivered digitally?!! Why not provide a goddamn http/ftp link with an image or even an installation package?? Isn't it the same, but without any software??

I already bought and beat HL1 a while back, but I couldn't pass up that sort of a deal, so I decided to buy it for my cousin who hasn't even played HL2 yet.
