Well it's official: 4870 Crossfire for Christmas for EVERYBODY. $199 is simply ridiculously cheap for that amount of performance. My Core i7 build is going to put a grin on my face this year.

Also I have to admit, that Phenom II is looking mighty strong. 2009 may turn out to be a good year for AMD in terms of market share. They have a worthy, affordable, upgradeable platform for people to start out with.

V. X-bit labs report AMD reduces pricing of AMD Radeon HD 4870 to $199

AMD just stole everyone else's thunder when it comes to "Extreme". This is awesome.

Whoa, what's up with that taskbar, it's full of duplo style bricks ... it doesn't look very refined! On the other hand the pop up window/tab listing for each application is a very nice touch.

Nice secure file system benches at Phoronix, showing that for most tasks there is no impact at all on performance, until you get to real file system heavy stuff.

And the ARM Apple netbook logic is sound - IF Apple release a netbook, there is a good chance that they'll use a multicore ARM11 or Cortex A8 design. If ARM is 1/10th the power, they could have an octo-core A8 design...
