I still don't get why the 'Vista Capable' lawsuit is still going. The PCs in question can run Vista. The article states that the PCs in question can run Vista. How are they not 'Vista Capable' when they can run Vista? Vista is still Vista whether Aero is on or not, so what the hell is the point? The only way this makes any sense is if you can prove that Vista Home Basic is not Vista...which is so stupid I can barely wrap my head around it.
Don't get me wrong, if Microsoft was being legitimately deceitful over some part of Vista's functionality, then they deserve what they get. But from what I've read, the ONLY part of Vista that didn't run properly on these machines was Aero. I mean, do the plaintiffs have THAT much of a hard on for meaningless eye candy? Or was there some other critical component of Vista that couldn't run on those machines that I'm not aware of? |

Why is it that the Phenom II overclock video has the HT link running at 1 GHz? What happened to HT3.0? And when all four cores are running at 6GHz on LN2 what is the northbridge running at (that doesn't seem to be shown)?
Just a few questions that come to mind :) |

The whole 915 thing is largely irrelevant. Had Vista been on time, the 915 chipset (more specifically the graphics portion) could NOT do areo. In retail, the 945 was the only Intel chipset available that formed the basis of pre-installed Vista machines. ATI and NV chipsets of course had no issues with Vista either, and are not the focus of the issue like the Intel 945.
My understanding is that to have a lawsuit, someone somewhere has to show harm or loss or something. Where are all the SKU's that had a 915 chipset with Vista installed? OR, where are the legions of buyers that bought a 915 and subsequently upgraded to Vista? Do these people actually exist? |

That "sexiest geeks" article is total bunk. That girl from MythBusters is just a pretty face and does nothing but make real science feel trite.
And that's not the half of it. |

In the face of the economic downturn, I suppose you can keep renaming the product while slowing down the R&D progress?
Way to go Nvidia. |
