I know that there are hard times ahead for everyone in the tech sector . . .have to be realistic about them as a group . . . . .but this will be interesting to watch.

Anyone have spare cash to buy some Intel stocks? It would probably be well worth it to pick up some after the quick drop and watch the steady incline as the year wears on.

I find the article on fudzilla about the lack of response from ATI for the GTX 295. It doesn't seem to be a problem that they don't have a single GPU solution that matches the GTX 280, because the 4870 is close, but much cheaper. The 4870X2 does beat the GTX 280 for a bit more. Wouldn't 2 4850X2s likely beat the GTX 295?

I think there is possible competitors from both sides after this. It's just a matter of who can manage the best performance/ results at the best price point. So to say ATI is unprepared doesn't seem entirely accurate given what is currently out there. I'm betting this card to be around 600-700 bucks here in canada. This is about the price of 2 4850X2s is it not?

Report: PC makers to provide free Vista-to-Win-7 upgrades starting July 1

If I remember correctly the same thing was offered with Windows ME machines. They got a voucher for a free XP upgrade.

Man that new Seagate 7200.12 hard drive shows some major improvement in avg read/write speeds. It spanks my 7200.10 250gb 16mb cache drive and that is one of the faster hard drives around.
