btw Rambus stocks plunged after this decision was made. I don't think any true TR readers should be worried; they would never stoop to buying that stock.

I don't get Fudzilla's article about the Vertex 2:
"The drive is insanely fast as this internal quad raid drive can write at up to 480MB/s and read around 550MB/s, depending on the size of the files." So, they benchmarked 4 drives in a RAID 0 setup? No wonder it goes to 550/480MB/s, you could do pretty much as well with any quality SSD drives, with four of them in RAID 0… Am I missing something? |

The Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi board is very awesome. If that x16 2.0 slot is x16 electrically, and those memory slots are dual channel, they have a winner here. I'm really itching to build an mITX machine now, just to see how well such a small box would perform.

OCZ Vertex SSDs are worth waiting for alright. WOW, just wow! I bought 4x30GB OCZ Solid Series SSDs for $300 total on Newegg.com and a $275 ARC-1210 to hopefully do what two Vertex SSDs can accomplish by themselves with no hardware RAID controller! I may have to send them back for a refund after seeing this...
EDIT: I think it's safe to say OCZ has been responsive to their customers and improved upon their SSD controllers just a little bit. ;-) |
