As a point of reference, there are exactly two cellular networks in the US, and those are GSM and CDMA. Verizon and Sprint/Nextel are the primary carriers on the CDMA network and AT&T is the primary carrier on the GSM network. Smaller carriers are simply leasing space one network or the other, although some also expand the network they're on by adding towers in new service areas.

Generally, if a person has bad luck with a carrier, it's more likely to be indicative of weak network infrastructure in the area rather than the carrier itself -- either too many phones targeting the same tower simultaneously or weak signal strength.

So whats so special about this? A smaller version of the iPhone? No new real features? Whoop dee doo. I have a touch right now and the last thing I want is that thing to be an smaller. Typing fast on it is laughable so less screen real estate doesn't sound like a benefit at all. Oh well.

I owned an iPhone for a month before selling it and canceling my service with AT&T. AT&T sucks. Verizon is awesome.

If you could type in landscape instead of portrait, then typing on this proposed nano isn't any harder than the iPhone. People do like cheaper, smaller things. All cell phone carriers suck in their own way.

Question: is it really necessary to post every Apple rumor as a news post on TR? How about a "macrumor roundup" every two weeks? I mean the Palm pre was obviously the shizzle at this year's CES, there's actually working prototypes and photos and AFAIR there wasn't even a mention here. Just saying...
