I'm all for supporting software developers and publishers and buy all of my games, but I have to admit that the increasingly overbearing copy protection schemes that we are seeing on the PC have left me totally cold. As a result, I have turned back more towards the consoles and I did not buy a single game for the PC that was released in 2008. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that my 26-month-old gaming PC will likely be my last. I wonder how many other people feel as I do, and how much this factors into the fortunes of Nvidia, AMD and Intel.

This coming from someone who for years gamed exclusively on the PC.

Considering the GLOBAL crisis, can you name a company that HASN'T cut their revenue forecast?

Is it no surprise that the market for $600 video cards has suddenly dried up?

Expect all the tech companies to do the same, to a greater or lesser extent depending on their exposure to the consumer market, the financial services market segment, etc., over the next couple of weeks as earning season runs its course.

nVidia is being hit two ways - they're not able to command the same price for their products as last year (now that AMD is back) and the economy is depressing sales as well. nVidia also lost at least one trading partner to AMD.

Will be interesting to see what AMD reports on the 22nd.
