CUDA is making loud noise since birth or 2007-2008 so it is likely to see products now. OpenCL for ATI is just late maybe 2010 you see alot of stuffs on it, since brooke+ was so silent since started or having not enough effort to market

I was a fan of Nero 6, but when I tried Nero 7, it took over my computer (yeah yeah, what was I thinking when I clicked "default install" for a cd program) All my music, videos, pictures were taken over by Nero and I was enraged. Promptly un-installed that bloat ware crap and haven't looked at it since.

They did a podcast a while ago where Scott recommended CDXP. I gave it a try and have liked it a lot. Simple, clean, free and easy to use. A win in my books.

After first testing on our University's Move-infested system: Encoding quality is abysmal, so who cares about how fast it is???

Why are people still burning disks anyway?

Ahead knows their product must evolve into 'non disk' areas.

It'd be nice if they updated nero recode.

Instead of 4 second rendering time I can render my youtube videos in 2 seconds. Very useful.

What is really needed is a GPU accelerated app that isn't just meant for mobile applications. More settings with higher resolution and general quality settings please.

I presumed this is a move needed to cope with the bloatware that Nero had become?

I must confess that I have not revisited Nero in many years since they forgot what made them in the 1st place, lean and mean and functional software.

Cheers,

Teddy Bär

This headline initially read like engrish or lolcats. I interpreted it as:

Nero Move (pause) it gets CUDA acceleration

I wonder why AMD isn't getting any play with any of these apps? Unless AMD isn't really trying to get people to code specifically for their cards and is waiting for OpenCL to take hold. In the mean time nVidia is gaining quite a bit of ground with CUDA. This does not really bode well for AMD and OpenCL unless nVidia forces the companies to change.

I guess it's at least better than Badaboom, because if I know Ahead right, they've developed this thing to actually do a good job and do it with some flexibility. Still, I couldn't find a use for such a piece of software.
