I completely support VIA :) I hope they take the low end low power market by storm with something spectacular as their next chip. Stupid Intel. I cant stand them

Some Atoms do come with VT-x, just not all of them.

Unfortunately, no Atoms come with both 64 bit and VT-x support.

http://ark.intel.com/ProductCollection.aspx?familyID=29035 has the details - 330 and 230 are 64-bit capable, some of the more high-end Z series are VT-x enabled.

Hell yeah, man, I would drop $600 or $700 on one for the chance to play with some clustering. I know I could just use old systems, but this would be so compact and out of the way.

I'd point out that VIA's Padlock also gives you some pretty sweet performance on encrypted data (such as what you'd see with SSL).

also: how excited am I, for Via! rah rah rah!

although the system will only be available "through a special group within Dell that creates custom hardware for large customers."

adding, "So that we don't piss off They-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named."
