Anyone else like the rough texture of the casing? I think it gives the units an "industrial" appeal which is probably what Enermax is trying to convey.

The FSP FSP250-60PFK (expected to be released by 2009-Q4) has a 250W Rating, along with a 80Plus:Gold Certification - a much wiser choice, IMHO, for a lower wattage Desktop PC (most are).

Given that there are a lot of computers that idle at around 50 W and barely hit 150 W under load, a 200 W would be nice. Since all PSUs reach maximum efficiency when working at 50 % load, those 450 W PSUs still won't be much better for these power-efficient computers, at least compared to their 500 - 600 W siblings.

Be this as it may, it's still good to see a company go in the right direction. Who on god's earth needs 1000+ W PSUs anyways and why can we buy so many different flavors of those?

450W is enough for mainstream... This is nice.

High efficient PSU is what we need these days. Plus high Efficient people too.

The 550w and 650w are both 88% at lower levels:

I know that's a bit higher than lots of computers idle at, though, suggesting lower power PSUs could be more efficient at idle levels.

But this can't really be confirmed, as the 450w version is mysteriously absent from the list! DUN DUN DUN DUN!

You have to be above the 80+ Gold certification threshold to get certified, by definition...

550 is the sweet spot for me. I'm sold (until I see the pricing)

Now those are efficiency ratings and wattage amounts I can support.
