This is the best for 24/7 with heavy multi tasking operation like bottling in a game while playing on the other game ^_^

Comparing the 905e with the 940, there is a 48% drop in TDP for a 17% drop in clock. This indicates that the 45nm of AMD has matured much better than expected and that AMD may be able to offer its sub 3 GHz quads at TDPs of 95W as a norm.
Nice to see that the 905e is not that underclocked. Its just 100MHz below the top Phenoms.
If they can get around to making their architecture improvements much better now, it will be very good for them. They have made the difficult passthrough of transitioning from 65nm to 45nm and also introducing architectural improvements.
If they continue like this, we'll soon see a new AMD that we all have been waiting for.
RIP Hector!

15W a core at 2.5GHz, with a 5W northbridge? That's not so bad!

Shame that power consumption doubles in just 500MHz.

"0.825-1.25V"? Anyone else finding that to be an excessively wide range?

That said, this is a very exciting move. One of these and a 4770 aren't too horribly far off from laptop wattages, and without sacrificing performance!

So are there any plans or indications of plans to get something similar to these out for AM2+?

I'd love to see this added to your processor test! Especially the power consumption tests (and against the Q8400 - Intel's only Q8xxx solution with VT).
The 905e with a 4770 on the updated AMD chipset could be a nice SFF solution!

p.s. Also would like to see an E7600 in the test - the first E7xxx series that has VT.

The 905e has a 2.0 GHz L3/NB speed, right?
