lol I laugh at people who allow iphones to sync email data on their corporate networks. That is a disaster waiting to happen.

Our security officer here won't allow it currently and he is a avid apple user.

We have an employee at work who attempts to sync her 3G iPhone every firmware update, which procedes to kill the phone, every time (itunes logo and usb logo only on phone). The process is the same each time to restore:

Log off, make her an admin, log on, start itunes, plug in phone, restore from backup (~20 minutes,) then reapply firmware (~30 minutes), remove admin, log her off, log her back on. Yeah we've tried reinstalling itunes, using a different machine, and making her an admin before the update, it has never worked. Also each time she does this it claims that her library is using one more license for sharing music.

This doesn't happen to the other ~10 people that have iphones, all are nonadmins and update their phones fine when prompted.

Awesome shout out for Hunt the Wumpus. It would be a great touchscreen game.

Someone has ported it to modern machines, as I recently learned. Maybe they'll port it to the iPhone.

A yes, the IIGS, I remember playing on it in grade school, about 2nd or 3rd grade. It had very superior graphics and sound for it's time. I remember playing on my friends commodore 64 too. My parents first computer was a 386DX with 4 megs of ram, and the graphics we're comparable to the IIGS from years before the 386 we had. The sound blaster in the 386 had clearer voice playback, but the MIDI in the IIGS kicked the sound blasters butt. As far as cell phones go, I just need my cell phone to make phone calls. The built-in camera is nice, and texting comes in handy when my girlfriend wants to chat from work. But if I wanted something like an iPhone, I would rather go with owning both a cell phone and a netbook or laptop. I don't care if your cell phone has a word processor, games, and runs at 1,000,000 Ghz.

#32, yeah, I'm pretty happy, even though it cost an arm and a leg. They're freaking hard to find now. I've got a ROM 03 machine with a 4Meg RAM board to put it in, so it should be pretty sweet. I'll eventually upgrade the 4Meg board to an 8Meg board, and after the upgrade to 20Mhz, it should be about as fast as a IIGS can get. (Well, after a storage upgrade to CompactFlash, too.) That, plus the case mod I've got in mind, it should be a pretty fun project to work on over the next year or so in my spare time. :)

So how much a month are 2 costing you total? (Serious inquiry, btw, not a trolling statement)

Funny timing - I just _today_ got a TransWarp GS accelerator board to take my Apple IIGS from its stock 2.8mhz to 7mhz. No lie, I picked it up from UPS about 20 minutes ago. I'm waiting for a group to finish work on the accelerator card upgrade, to take it up to the max 20mhz. Can't wait. Apple is a much worse company in the post-Mac world, IMO.

I COULD get a 3GS on my second line but that implies a 3 year contract with Robbers/Fido and it ain't gonna happen.

I have noticed Telus/Bell is testing their UMTS/HSDPA network and according to insiders, it should go live in big cities this September/October.

And since Robbers doesn't have an exclusivity agreement with Apple, you can bet your ass they'll get the iPhone and with MUCH better prices than what Robbers is currently asking for.
