Holy cats, when did all the crybabies sign up for this site? It's not like you HAVE to play the game, and the elistist "no they're ruining my fond memories of past games!" attitude has gotten old.
That said, I'm ready for a good MW game again. It's been too long since MW3. |

Good to see Weisman and S&T are actually up to something. There'd be a dearth of news outta them since the FASA property acquisition.
I'm glad it's a reboot of the series. While I thought some of the later MW iterations were enjoyable, they certainly strayed a lot from the glory days formula of MW2. Oh, btw, S&T has authorized a BattleTech fansite to distribute MechWarrior 4 and its expansions for free. Here's the quote: 7/09/2009: In honor of BattleTech's 25th anniversary, Smith & Tinker has authorized MekTek.net and MekTek Studios to distribute MechWarrior 4 (along with its expansion packs) completely free. http://www.smithandtinker.com/news/mechwarrior-to-be-distributed-fr... |

"With Tiberium threatening to render Earth entirely uninhabitable, the warring Nod and GDI factions find themselves allied with the common goal of saving humanity, and at long last the world will discover "Kane's motivations behind his decade-long plan."
Sounds a bit weak to me. |

Didn't the C&C4 screen shot look like a Starcraft I screen shot?
Yay! MW5! |

Forced online activation and only five installs for C&C 4? I hope it does not turn out that way. I already skipped out on Red Alert 3 because of it, which pained me because I loved Red Alert 2.

I have waited for years for the MW 5 announcement.
And now this... I hated MW 4 and I always hoped to get something like MW 3 again. MW 3 with a force feedback joystick was just the most immersive experience ever. How log do I have to wait to get that kind of entertainment again? |

It might just be me but that C&C screen looks more like Total Annihilation than C&C.

If that's an in-game screenshot of C&C 4, then congratulations, they succeeded in making it look worse than its predecessor.
And MW5 is likely to be console trash. *sigh* |

Read the full MechWarrior story interview on IGN http://pc.ign.com/articles/100/1002164p1.html. From my quick read, it appears that the game developer has no funding, no publisher, no final script, no final game feature plan developed, and no date for producing a completed game. Everything is contingent on finding a publisher to come up with the money. So if anybody here has a spare $10+ million to throw over to Piranha Games let them know about it please. Now I'm only slightly excited by the news as this could turn into vaporware.

I'm super excited about both, however, CnC coming from EA I'm a little weary. CnC3, is in my personal opinion, one of the best CnC games in terms of enjoyment and playability (not the most fun, that goes to RA2). However, RA3 was a steaming pile of stink that was so annoying to play (what do you mean I have to micro-manage my troops to tell them to fire back when they're getting fired on???)
I still play CnC3 on-line with friends quite regularly. As long as they keep it fun and don't make it so micro-oriented, it'll be good. MW5? *Drool* Just don't gimp it with a console port. |

LAN action with MW5 would be the stuff of legends. Might rival Left 4 Dead in LAN fun among my entourage.

Co-op mode for MW would be pretty cool. I just hope they do a good job with the game.

The first thing that I thought when I heard this was, it's too late and they're just doing this to leech players off what's that mod that's been developing for a few years.
After looking at the movies for MW5 I remembered the movies from that mod and thought... this doesn't actually look better.
Then I read that it was being made for both the Xbox and the PC, which means a console-to-PC port, and I also read that both xbox and PC players will get to play together. I realized MW5 is probably going to be remenescient of MW4 (only time will tell though).
I promptly left the page and went to see what that mod was up to, Living Legends, and found out it's almost in open Beta. Not only that, they went full out on their plans for the mod. Well beyond what I would expect from a game.
Now I have to wonder what will happen if a game made by a official company with a lead designer from the Battletech universe at the helm ends up worse then a mod made by avid fans for free.
I don't think I'll stop laughing. When game companies can blame everything on piracy and then something like that happens... that will take the cake.
