Just don't mistake the Corsair M64 for one of these. The M64 is based on the JMicron controller.

Am I the only person who is completely confused by the performance claims regarding solid state drives?

You have some people claiming they make a huge difference ; literally night and day on everyday usage, and that they're the best upgrade you could get for the money. And then there are the people that say, nooo, these are practical only for server usage and you're not going to notice all that much of an advantage using them on a home environment.

So who is right, then?

When a snappy SSD comes along (not JMicron) that's 250GB or bigger, and under $300, i'm sold. Probly will buy two at that point
